Oh, oh, oh... it's so heartbreaking and sad and angsty and not something I'd necessarily read at *all*... but I did and I have to rec it. Dean, while hunting alone, is paralyzed, and Sam invites him to move in with him and the family he'd made. Poor Dean, poor, poor Dean... ::hugs him close:: If you feel like a good cry, this is the fic for you. Normally I don't read Deathfic, but the author didn't tag it as such, so I'm warning you now - there is a death. ::rolls around laughing:: Okay, I can't say I got suckered into this one, because it's clearly marked as such. However, I have yet to read a Deathfic that was So. Goddamned. *Funny*! Hilarious all the way through, with how the author comes up with ways to kill the boys, and a little heartbreaking at the end, but in a good way. (And how ironic that I say I don't like Deathfic and yet I've recced two so far?)

Humor, wingfic. Dean is bitchslapped by an elemental and it's Sam who has to cope. 

Yes, I like Wing!Fic, can't you tell? That up there is the summary of the first in the series, Three Point  Landing, but as the series progresses it becomes so much more. Especially when Sam who gets his own turn at being slapped. Though the fic has an emphasis on Dean, so much of it has to do with his relationship with Sam it's good for both Dean fans and Sam fans, and a definate must for anyone who's a fan of the brotherlove. The author calls this fic 'Wingcest,' and it would have probably been good for Gen fans at the beginning, though by the time of this writing I'd be leery if you don't like the Wincest. I have to admit, for the longest time I sort of ignored this fic; the premise sounded interesting, but just Not For Me. Oh, how wrong I was! A beautiful, long read. WIP, I will update this post with more accurate tags once the fic is done.

Once upon a time, chalrecced this in her journal. I had heard of this 'Supernatural' show, but never really saw it, and the incest made me a bit leery. However, bored and wanting something to do, I clicked the link and read this. And never turned back. A Folsom Prison Blues episode tag, in this one Sam learns something about prison life and a little more about Dean. A Fuck-or-die fic, this one is sexy, sweet, and has made me a hardcore bottom!Dean fan for life. Excellent characterisation and beautiful writing.

For this Bug!John fangirl, this is pretty much my favorite of the Post-Conversion fics. A warning, though; this is not a happy fic. Whoo, long summary. Anyway, another fic from SGA Big Bang, and a goodie it is. Then again, I hold a special place in my heart for superheroes, and the powers that go with them. Therefore, this fic is nearly an automatic rec. But what earns it's place here is that it takes an idea (the ATA gene gives people powers) and pulls it off so perfectly. Rodney and his obsession with the Gifted, John's nervousness about making friends even though people are throwing themselves at them... it's just lovely. Wing!Fic, and what a lovely Wing!fic it is! Many authors in writing Wing!fic seem to ignore that flight is a little more difficult than just flapping the wings; this one doesn't. Not only is reading John's use of his wings, but his gradual acceptance of them is very well done. The ending, however, is a heartbreaker. SGA, Gen, Wing!Fic, Team!Fic
 

So. I read a lot of fanfic. I mean, a *lot* of fanfic. In a day consisting of about fourteen hours of wakefullness, I'd probably spend at least seven of it reading. Yes, my life *is* that sad, thanks for noticing! So... what I'm debating is whether or not I turn this into a rec journal. I said I'd use this journal in my very first post for fandom pursuits, but except for a couple pieces of fanart and one very slapdash story... it's not really happening.

Yes, I think I will make this a rec journal, if only so that I have some place to store links to everything I read!
